Welcome 2 Dumfries & Galloway! hotels, restaurants, businesses, guest houses, events, services, festivals, gardens and more.
Sea angling is good off and around the Galloway coastline. Tope, Mackeral, Huss, Wrasse, Cod, Flatties, Whiting, Eel...they are all out there.
River and Loch fishing is equally good in the region, with plenty of Salmon,
Trout and Pike to go after. Local knowledge is useful, ask around for the best
beats and marks.
PLEASE USE CAUTION IF FISHING FROM THE ROCKS.

There are local skippers who can take you or your party out for a day's charter to marks they know. Well known angler, charter skipper and conservationist Ian Burret operates out of the Mull of Galloway, with his equally well known boat Onyer Marks. A leading member of the Save Our Sharks campaign, Ian is dedicated to preserving game fish stocks from the threat of industrial-scale trawling. Other skippers operate out of Portpatrick, Loch Ryan, Kirkudbright and Whithorn. Experienced skippers, they can provide you with a great day's angling, local knowledge and advice, not to mention bait and tackle in some cases. Check out the local links before you go elsewhere:
